(4:00pm) RIDER RACE LINEUP - in front of Brewers Alley Restaurant & Bar, 124 N. Market Street
Before the race, racers will do a "penny farthing stack" (a self-supporting line of high wheel bicycles) - a great photo opportunity!

(5:30pm) RACE ENDS

Friday, August 17 – Frederick Keys Baseball Game Event

(5:30 pm) High Wheelers will lead the Tour de Frederick group from the Frederick Hilton Gardens Hotel to Harry Grove Stadium.  (HELMETS REQUIRED.) Escorted 1 mile ride to game. Bikes will be securely stored inside the stadium. Driving by car to game is optional.

(6 pm) Gates open at Harry Grove Stadium (approx. 2.5 miles from hotel). High Wheelers will circle around the infield before the three-time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond tosses out the opening pitch. Bikes will be stored in hallway adjacent food tent. Casual dinner at baseball stadium will be provided for those who registered for the ‘Mini-High Wheel Package.” A super fireworks display at the conclusion of the game.

(9:30 pm – approx.) Escorted bike ride back to hotel following fireworks. (FLASHING BIKE LIGHTS REQUIRED)

Saturday, August 18 – Race Day

(0930-11:30am) For those High Wheel riders participating in a leisure History Loop Bike Tour of Frederick City - meet at the Frederick Tourism Visitor’s Center in downtown Frederick promptly at 9:30am. Local cycling historian George Ruszat will take you on a very leisurely 8 mile bike tour of Frederick city stopping at various noteworthy spots in Frederick. Ride concludes at Brewer’s Alley.

(11:45am) Lunch at Brewer’s Alley  (Cost of lunch at own expense, not included in packages)

(12:45pm-1:15pm) *MANDATORY FOR ALL RACE PARTICIPANTS* Pre-race meeting at Brewer’s Alley

(3:30 pm) Riders meet in front of Frederick’s City Hall. Refer to attached Frederick downtown map for nearby parking areas. There are a number of nearby pay parking areas as well as free street parking around Baker Park.          

(4:00 pm) Begin race lineup in front of Brewer’s Alley Restaurant & Bar on Market Street.
If time allows, we may attempt to do a “Penny Farthing Stack” for photo opportunities.

(4:30 pm) Start time of Frederick Clustered Spires High Wheel Race      
*MANDATORY – HELMETS MUST BE WORN FOR RACE*       
** Those race finishers who will not be attending the dinner can obtain their finishers medal at the conclusion of the race at the Announcers’ Table at the Start/Finish Line.

(6-8 pm) Dinner, ice cream social and race award ceremony at the Delaplaine Arts Center.

(8:30 pm) Escorted ride with other Tour de Frederick riders leaves Delaplaine Center for return to Hilton Garden Hotel

Sunday, August 19 – Optional Washington DC Monument Ride
 (8 am) Meet at the Hilton Garden Hotel promptly at 8am. Transportation for riders and their bikes will be provided to Washington DC FREE of charge. Drive to DC takes approximately 1 hour.
*Meeting location in DC - TO BE DETERMINED – for those joining but not traveling with group from Frederick

(9 am) Enjoy a tour around DC by local resident high wheeler Haig Colter stopping at some of DC’s greatest monuments. Ride will be about 10-15 miles at a very leisurely pace. There will be plenty of stops for photo opportunities so bring your camera! There will be a lunch stop; cost of lunch at your own expense.

(2 pm - approx.) Depart DC for approximate arrival into Frederick at 3pm
